Friends Only...
This journal is Friends Only. I mostly post about myself and my family and occasionally shopping, so there are only a couple public posts. I will pretty much add anyone, I just need to know how you found me.

Apologies to
raspsun,
__downdown and
kara_cabana who got most of this in text form already.
How cute are we?

( And off we go! )
2 mile run / 11 mile bike / 2 mile run
It was awesome. I loved every single second of it. I wasn't last. \o/
Overall place: 340/500
Age group place: 29/35
1st 2 mile run: 20:43 (Sweet!)
Transition 1: 1:51
11 mile bike: 48:19
2nd transition: 1:40
2nd 2 mile run: 22:25
Total: 1:34:55.7
The weather was gorgeous but windy. The course was a little hilly. I loved every single second of it. I was a little worried when we got started because I wasn't sure how many were behind me, my wave started last, so my fear of being last was even more possible. The course was out and back, so when we turned at the 1st mile, I saw a bunch of people behind me. I felt so much better after that, it was all cake.
I never run that fast, it was beautiful. The transition to the bike area went smooth, there weren't a lot of pink bikes, so mine was easy to find. I put on my helmet and my fancy bike gloves and got going. I love to bike. The whole thing just felt smooth and comfortable to me. People were complaining a bit about the wind, but I'm used to from riding out by me where there is all farm fields and no wind breaks. I didn't push really hard and I was still passing people. It was seriously so much fun.
The transition in was great, I got my bike racked and my gloves/helmet off and started running again. I was a little slower on the 2nd two miles, but I felt great. I wasn't pushing I had plenty of people behind me and I just enjoyed the hell out of it. I'm hooked. I already found another one to do when I get back from Hawaii after the 1/2 marathon. I'm totally doing a triathlon next year.

5 years ago, I was morbidly obese. That amazes me sometimes.
I am always telling people that I can tell you what I ate on this day for the last four or five years. So today, I decided to go through my Fitday and actually see what I ate on May 6th in my past.
Let's start with today:
Yes. I know what I am going to eat for the rest of the day. I pretty much always do. I will be especially careful today, because tomorrow morning is a weigh in. I am really loving all my homemade chilis and salads. 5 years ago I didn't eat fish or sweet potatoes or asparagus. I have changed so much!

Well, that was interesting! Maybe only to me, but still. Things I learned? Kashi Go Lean is apparently my go to breakfast. That tracking is really, really important to my journey and always has been. Also, it is a nice reminder that a day off here and there isn't going to make me balloon back up to 245lbs.

( I know the day that I decided to change my life. )
My favorite photos of my transformation are in this Kodak Gallery.

They show me at each of my daughter’s birthday parties from 1-4. I have this hanging in my cubicle at work so I am constantly reminded about how far I have come.
So, this is me.
